English 15

English 15 is the Freshman English class at Penn State.  We were asked to engage in a semester long project of scholarly inquiry.  We were told to choose a year for this semester long project and I chose the grand year of 1964.  The year that we picked framed and shaped all of our assignments that later followed.  We were told to pick a year that would sustain our interests and fuel our curiosity for the duration of the sixteen week long semester.  I chose the year 1964 primarily because it was the year that the first Ford Mustang was released and I later found out other great things happened too.  Our first assignment was to write the basic research paper about numerous events that occurred during our specific years.  Our second assignment was to write a narrative about an event that happened during our year and I chose the opening of the first ever BLIMPIE.  Then we had to create a podcast from our narrative.  Our third assignment was to create a website analyzing a cultural artifact and my cultural artifact was the 1964 Ford Mustang, which was amazing if I say so myself.  Our fourth assignment was a film analysis and I chose one of the greatest musicals ever:  My Fair Lady.  Then our final assignment was the era in review video.
